Achieving Operational Resilience through DevSecOps
Information
Planning, training and practice are key elements to ensuring that your IT systems are resilient. There’s a lot to be said for ensuring that your systems follow ITIL best practices and adherence to ISO27001 & DORA regulations. It can seem like an unnecessary expense to provide resilience right up until you need to use that insurance policy and in today’s climate leveraging those plans seems more and more likely.
One of the fastest ways to recovery is to provide simplicity and making recovery an everyday process. However, your recovery speed is only as fast as your data.
In this presentation Gary will relate some of his experiences as a part-time firefighter with that of his former day job as a managed IT system service owner to share some insights on how a streamlined and efficient software development lifecycle process can feed into day-to-day operational resilience and business continuity or as Gary describes it “shadow resilience”.
Beyond the traditional backup and recovery processes, having an additional route to recovery can offer a layer of resilience that might just save the day when that event that couldn’t possibly happen, does.
