Network Security is Dead. Now What?
Information
Traditional network security has reached its limits. Networks were designed to connect, not to isolate, and security has become something users and attackers alike try to route around. In today’s world of cloud adoption, VPNs, containerization, and complex supply chains, the idea of a single defendable network no longer exists. Add to that the conflicting priorities of networking, security, IT, and application teams, and it becomes clear: network security as we knew it is dead.
So where do we go from here?
In this session, Joost Hage and Marco Put-Carstens will explore the root causes of the current challenges, show why change is inevitable, and outline how a Zero Trust approach shifts the focus from protecting networks to protecting data. By enforcing access through identity, device posture, and context-driven policies, Zero Trust provides a model where security, IT, and development goals align without sacrificing user experience.
The talk will conclude with an open discussion with the audience: how do we move beyond legacy pain points, and what does a practical path toward Zero Trust look like for your organization?
