Vigilant against Vultures: Anticipating Cyber Threats Before They Strike
Information
In today's cyber landscape, adversaries, like vultures, circle their prey, using diverse techniques to strike when least expected. Often, organizations detect threats only when damage is underway—akin to being picked apart by a vulture. At Dutch Railways, we believe a robust Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) program is essential for capturing evolving cyber threats in their critical circling phase, preventing harm before it begins. By leveraging CTI, we aim to understand emerging and evolving threats through proactive analysis, focusing on what is to come rather than reacting to events already in motion.
We will share the lessons learned from our journey to becoming a CTI-driven organization, using the Cyber Threat Intelligence Maturity Model (CTI-CMM) to integrate strategic and operational approaches. Discover how to lay the complex puzzle of setting up an effective CTI program that leverages tangible actions to protect against threats before they strike, which can not only strengthen defenses but also enhance communication and collaboration within your organization and beyond.
