The Untold Reality of Communication During a Cyber Attack
Information
In this keynote, we will pull back the curtain on the hidden world of cyber-attack communication strategies. This includes communicating with the criminal threat actor, but also employees, stakeholders and the press. We will bridge the gap between threat actor communication, negotiations and crisis communication, revealing how deeply interdependent these are.
"We don't negotiate with terrorists" may sound like decisive leadership, but those familiar with these situations know it’s more complex. Marcel will unravel this stigma and explain why it's more appropriate to think in terms of Threat Actor Communication, rather than Cyber Negotiations. These are not the same. We will demonstrate how this approach can be a crucial tool in managing a cyber crisis, serving as a strategic guide for communicating with the outer world.
Using real-world examples, including never-before-heard audio of threat actors pressuring victims, the audience will participate in making key communication decisions and explore the dilemmas often encountered in these high-pressure situations.
